What is MUSIC?

The Multi-Unit Systems Information Concept (MUSIC) is designed to harmoniously integrate leading edge computer technologies into a seamless information system from point-of-purchase through management analysis. The objective of MUSIC is to provide managers, at all levels of the restaurant company, access to timely, mission critical information. MUSIC allows all of the management team to acquire, review, communicate and analyze the information that is most important to their function. This transporting and dissemination of information is achieved by using multiple leading edge technologies, all working together in a unified but modular solution.

Elements of MUSIC

The modular design of this concept allows the foodservice operator to choose those elements most applicable to the concept's needs. The following are only some of the unique elements of MUSIC.

Manager's Work Station

MWS provides the individual unit manager the ability to enter, review, analyze and communicate unit specific information, in a format controlled by the central office. The data may come from integration with in-store POS, keying activities, touchscreen, or other data acquisition methods.

MWServer

This function provides for data to be transported between units, mobile field management and corporate office locations. The system minimizes line transmission times, saving usage costs, while maximizing the volume of data transmitted.

E.D.I.

The electronic transfer and exchange of information between suppliers and purchaser is accomplished through the use of Electronic Data Interchange. This can greatly reduce the clerical time in the ordering/delivery process for goods and services.

Restaurant Info-Solution

A significant reduction in paper handling and storage can be achieved through digitally storing images of paper documents. These "electronic pages" can be viewed, routed, updated, retrieved, and managed without using the source document.

E.I.S.

An Executive Information System allows top management to define a specific plan for tracking critical success factor information and to measure performance standards for various segments of the entity (unit, region, division, concept). The EIS ability is predicated upon the presence and support of all of the other elements of MUSIC.
